Iron and Wine’s The Shepherd’s Dog is the best cd beginning to end I’ve listened to this year. Incredible. “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” is just one of many great tracks. Can’t recommend this cd enough.

Cotton Teeth is the new cd by grassroots folk-rock band The Snake The Cross The Crown. Imagine if Iron & Wine and Matt Pond PA had an illegitimate bastard band-child. They even have beards. Cotton Teeth is one of the best overall discs I’ve listened to this year. Check out this hodge-podge of a video that sums up what they’re all about.

Why is this song so great?

I’ve been listening to this song for nearly a year and it never gets old. This is Calexico with Iron and Wine; two very underrated bands. Maybe Less is one of those simple songs that gets in your head, you can’t get it out, don’t reall want to and you wish you had written it.
